Memorial Building on Sinking Springs Farm in Hodgenville,Kentucky
The Memorial Building pictured is located on the site where Abraham Lincoln was born. Inside the Memorial Building is a log cabin which at first was thought to be the original log cabin of the Lincolns. Further investigation determined that the cabin was one typical of the time period but not the Lincolns. There are fifty-six (56) steps to the top of the Memorial Building designating the age that Abraham Lincoln lived. In 1909 President Theodore laid the cornerstone. In 1911 President William Howard Taft dedicated the marble and granite memorial.
