This was by far the best weather day of the trip as the Temperature rose from 48F in the morning to a high of 72F in the afternoon. Along with a beautiful sunny day, the price of gasoline finally dropped to $3.61/gallon at a Road Ranger located in Winchester, Kentucky.
The speed limit for West Virginia and Kentucky is 70MPH. This makes it easier to meet the planned travel of around 275 miles a day. Total mileage to date is up to 1074 miles which translate into 269 miles a day.
Part of the day was spent at the Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont, Kentucky. There is an actual Kentucky Bourbon Trail along the Bluegrass Parkway where there are many Distilleries. Also visited was Fort Knox where the U.S. Gold Bullion Depository is located.
This was a very good day and one can only hope that tomorrow will be just as good.
