20 Mule Team Borax

This picture taken on Route 90 near Furnace Creek, California in Death Valley National Park.  A team of 20 mules of Harmony Borax Works owned by William Tell Coleman's would move borax out of Death Valley to rail spurs between 1883 and 1889 using these.  Those a little older can also remember the commercials of 20 Mule Team Borax that aired on the TV show Death Valley Days who by the way had a former President emcee the show.
