A Beach Day on Mothers Day-Day 34

The morning temperature at Ridgecrest, California was 74F and by early afternoon it had risen to 96F during the drive across Highway 58 to the coast.  By the time I had reached the coast the temperature had dropped to 65F.  The average temperature varies little during the year from a low of 40s to a high of the low 80s.  Gasoline purchased today was at $4.259/gallon, a few pennies less than yesterday.  I trust all the Mothers had a wonderful day today as you all deserve it.  I had planned on seeing the Point San Luis Lighthouse but it seems that the land that it sits on belongs to PG&E (hummmm, an energy company) and they have it locked up for most of the week except for tours that they basically run on Saturdays only (three tours) for a measly $20.00.  This is the very first Lighthouse that I have not been able to see during my travels!!!
My plan is to arrive near San Francisco tomorrow as I am going to have a visitor Tuesday morning.
Goodnight everyone!
