This picture taken of the Mosaic Canyon off Route 190 near Stovepipe Wells in Death Valley National Park. One does have to drive up a two mile washboard stone road to get here. Once one walked into the canyon it felt like another world. The Canyon follows faults that formed when the Death Valley region began to stretch a few million years ago. Running water at these faults did the rest..
