This picture of Ellery Lake was taken in Inyo National Forest along Route 120 just beyond Tioga Pass as one heads West to Yosemite National Park. The Lakes' elevation is 9,538 feet elevation which might answer why there is still a lot of ice in and on the lake in mid May. I would not have been able to take this photo a day earlier as the road would have been closed.
it was meant to be....this is a beautiful spot...lovely....
