Hot Rock

This picture taken in Lassen Volcanic National Park located six miles west of Viola, California.  This hot rock is a piece of the dacite lava that filled Lassen's Peak Crater prior to May 1915.  It was in May of that year where two volcanic eruptions occurred on Lassen Peak that caused the rock to careen down the mountainside that touched off a snow avalanche carrying the 300 ton rock five miles away to this location.  Is there anything more powerful than Mother Nature?
