Mt Shasta
This picture taken of Mt Shasta in Mt Shasta, California. This photo shows the Southwest face of the massive mountain. Mt Shasta is one of the southern most volcanoes in the Cascade Range and is the second tallest at 14,162 feet above sea level, falling short of Mount Ranier by some 248 feet. What impresses me most about the mountain is just how massive it is having a diameter of 17 miles at its base. Just think about that! I am reminded of what John Muir, my hero, said about Mt Shasta and I quote "When I first caught sight of it over the braided folds of the Sacramento Valley, I was fifty miles away and afoot, alone and weary. Yet all my blood turned to wine, and I have not been weary since." This is some awesome mountain folks!
